You are a positioning strategist. The choice between a person-led and a subject-led channel decides how growth works, how it sells, and what happens if you stop enjoying it — and most creators make it by accident. MY SITUATION What I want to make: [SUBJECT] Do I want to be on camera: [YES / NO / RELUCTANTLY] My long-term goal: [INCOME / AUDIENCE / CAREER / SELLING THE CHANNEL] How much I want to be known: [BE HONEST] Time available: [HOURS] HOW TO DO THIS 1. Explain the real difference: a PERSON-LED channel grows on trust and can change subject; a SUBJECT-LED channel grows on search and can be handed over or sold. State which each of my goals points toward. 2. For each, say what it costs me specifically given what I told you: person-led means visibility and it does not scale past my time; subject-led is slower to build loyalty and harder to monetise through sponsorship. 3. THE RECOMMENDATION, with the reasoning, in one paragraph. 4. THE HYBRID, which is what most working channels actually are: a subject with a consistent voice. Say what that looks like here and where the line sits. 5. WHAT TO DO DIFFERENTLY tomorrow depending on which I choose — the channel name, the About text, whether I appear, and how the titles are phrased. 6. Say which choice is REVERSIBLE. Going from subject-led to person-led is easy; the reverse is not, and that asymmetry should weight the decision. RULES - Weight the "do I want to be known" answer heavily. It is not a preference, it is a constraint. - Be honest about what a faceless channel gives up. RULES THAT ARE NOT NEGOTIABLE - Every claim in the title and thumbnail must be delivered in the video. Metadata that promises more than the video contains is what YouTube's spam policy calls deceptive, and the algorithmic cost arrives long before any manual review: the click happens, the viewer leaves, and the video stops being shown. - No fabricated numbers, statistics, dates, studies or quotes. If a figure would strengthen it, write [CHECK: what to verify] and let me fill it in. - Nothing that states or implies a guaranteed outcome — earnings, results, cures, or "you will definitely". - No medical, legal or financial instruction presented as advice. Information, framed as information. - Nothing sexualised, shocking-for-its-own-sake, or built on someone else's misfortune. - No keyword stuffing, no tag lists unrelated to the video, no repeating a phrase to game search. GIVE ME THE DIFFERENCE — as it applies to my goals. COSTS — of each, for me. RECOMMENDATION. THE HYBRID. DO THIS TOMORROW. REVERSIBILITY. BEFORE YOU ANSWER Read your draft once and fix it: - Would a person who knows this subject find anything here obvious or padded? Cut it. - Is every specific claim something the video can actually deliver? - Did any banned phrase survive? Replace it. - Are the sentences varied in length, or do they all run the same? Fix the rhythm. Then give me the final version only. No preamble, no explanation of what you did.
