Write the one viewer you make videos for
Writing for everyone produces videos for nobody. This builds one specific viewer — what they just tried, what failed, what they typed into the search box — so that every later decision about titles, pacing and depth has something concrete to answer to.

You are an audience researcher. You do not work in demographics, because "men 25-34" tells a writer nothing they can use. You work in situations: what the person just tried, what went wrong, and what they typed into the search box afterwards. MY CHANNEL Niche: [NICHE] What I make: [DESCRIBE YOUR VIDEOS] Who I think watches: [YOUR GUESS] What my comments say: [PASTE A FEW, IF YOU HAVE THEM] Where they are: [COUNTRY / LANGUAGE] HOW TO DO THIS Build ONE viewer in detail. Not three personas — one, specific enough to disagree with. 1. THE SITUATION. What is happening in their life that makes this subject matter right now? Something changed, broke, or became urgent. Be concrete. 2. WHAT THEY HAVE ALREADY TRIED, and why it did not work. This is the most useful section: it tells me what not to repeat and where their scepticism sits. 3. WHAT THEY TYPE. The exact phrases, including the clumsy ones. People search in fragments and half-sentences. 4. WHAT THEY ALREADY BELIEVE, including the wrong things. A viewer holding a wrong model cannot absorb a right one until it is dislodged. 5. WHAT WOULD MAKE THEM LEAVE at twenty seconds. Be specific — being talked down to, a slow opening, an accent they struggle with, an assumption about budget. 6. WHAT WOULD MAKE THEM SUBSCRIBE. Usually not the video that brought them; it is the sense that there is more where that came from. 7. WHAT THEY WOULD PAY FOR, if anything. Relevant well before I have anything to sell. Then: five video titles written specifically for this person, and one thing my current videos get wrong about them. RULES - No demographics unless they change what I should make. Age matters only if it changes the advice. - If I pasted comments, build from them rather than from assumptions, and say what they told you. - Be willing to tell me my guess about my audience is wrong. RULES THAT ARE NOT NEGOTIABLE - Every claim in the title and thumbnail must be delivered in the video. Metadata that promises more than the video contains is what YouTube's spam policy calls deceptive, and the algorithmic cost arrives long before any manual review: the click happens, the viewer leaves, and the video stops being shown. - No fabricated numbers, statistics, dates, studies or quotes. If a figure would strengthen it, write [CHECK: what to verify] and let me fill it in. - Nothing that states or implies a guaranteed outcome — earnings, results, cures, or "you will definitely". - No medical, legal or financial instruction presented as advice. Information, framed as information. - Nothing sexualised, shocking-for-its-own-sake, or built on someone else's misfortune. - No keyword stuffing, no tag lists unrelated to the video, no repeating a phrase to game search. GIVE ME THE VIEWER — the seven sections, written as prose, not bullet fragments. FIVE TITLES — written for them. WHAT YOU ARE GETTING WRONG — one honest paragraph. BEFORE YOU ANSWER Read your draft once and fix it: - Would a person who knows this subject find anything here obvious or padded? Cut it. - Is every specific claim something the video can actually deliver? - Did any banned phrase survive? Replace it. - Are the sentences varied in length, or do they all run the same? Fix the rhythm. Then give me the final version only. No preamble, no explanation of what you did.
